About the founder
The founder is Shatona Kilgore-Groves, a social entrepreneur. She is from Minneapolis, MN, attended college in Nashville, TN at Fisk University she then later obtained her Graduate degree from the University of Phoenix. She has a passion in helping others achieve their greatest potential. She specializes in conferences, retreats, and expos.
How long have you been doing _____ event? (This really equates to, how can I trust you, how do I know if I give you my money that people will attend and I will earn my money back).
We have been creating, leading, and organizing events for over 20 years.
Every event has to start somewhere. We have been successful in creating events that people want to come to with the help of other great business owners and people in the community that help share the event. However, I cannot be successful alone, without you that is. If you have no plans of helping with promotion, please do not sign up for a Crown Event, especially vendors.
How many people do you expect to attend? This question depends on what type of event that we are hosting. If we sell tickets it is easier to predict attendance, however, if it is a free event and tickets are not being sold we cannot provide you with an exact number, only a guess. With that being said, we ask that all vendors invite all their friends via social media, email blasts, etc. this should equate to YOU bringing at least 10 people and every other vendor bringing 10 people a piece. Tip from Tabitha DumasInvite your current clients plus colleagues and prospects (and even friends and family, when appropriate). Tell them, “I’d love to see you there!” and “Bring a friend!” Not only will the event planners appreciate the extra attendees but a vendor fair is an excellent opportunity for your fans to introduce their people to you. Consider offering a special to your current customers, too, especially if they introduce you to someone new via the event.
How does Crown Events market the event? Think of Crown Events as an a means to gather business owners and organize a great event rather than a marketing company. We partner with other entrepreneurs to rent a fabulous space that many of us couldn't afford on our own so we can all sell our products.
But we do market alongside of you, so Crown Events and other vendors market the events on/by:
Online event sites Personal invitations Social media posts and paid promotions Newspaper and radio websites (radio on air if we can get an interview or through affordable ads) Word of mouth Leaving flyers at local venues with high traffic and more! However, event participants (vendors) must share the event as well. Please do not sign up if you would like to show up without helping with promotion. We want to partner with you to make great events.
